The main steps while setting a mobile phone
Important to know
Public Warning and Information System is available on 2G (GSM), 3G (UMTS) and 4G (LTE) networks of all public mobile communication service providers, namely, Bitė Lietuva, Telia and Tele2. Warning messages are received by mobile phones which have activated cell broadcast function.
The main steps in order to set mobile phones for receiving cell broadcast messages
Order of the settings may differ:
- Service activation (cell broadcasting, network messages, news, informational notifications);
- Choosing channel for desirable language (578, 525, 605);
- Topic entry (Dėmesio, Attention, Vnimanije);
- Picking up the language as “all”.
Mobile phones with “EU – Alert” function (channel 4371)
Tick (√) – CellBroadcast;
Tick (√) – emergency warning (show emergency threats, Alert level 2 (iPhone), …).
Check of Public Warning and Information System shall be carried out no less than twice per year at 11:52 a.m. together with check of Siren Warning System, during which sirens are turned on. At the same time you may check whether your mobile phone is set correctly to receive warning messages. Residents shall be informed about this check through public information measures in advance.
